Car Bio

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER place a blower on a stock 2v. Yes, I know we've heard it before, but this 50 year old with 30 years of motorcycle riding was too stubborn. Being that the last bike was a Suzuki Hayabusa, getting a stock 2v GT was a huge disappointment. I purchased the blower from a recommended installer by Procharger. It couldn't be tuned on several attempts, so we called the Diablo Representitive, but we still couldn't tune it. Finally I blew the #3 Piston, so we took off the blower and I went back to the Ford Dealership and get the piston replaced under warranty. Instead of going back to that tuner I went to Superior Automotive in Anaheim, CA, and at that point the numbers were 383rwhp/390rwtq. It ran fine for about three months, but suddenly it started detonating and shattering spark plugs. In the thanksgiving of 2005 the engine finally gave out.

So, I find Demon Engines who explained everything to me on how Mustang engines work and what it would take to make some major horsepower with the budget I had. GTR Hi Performance in Rancho Cucamonga, CA also helped me learn about this engine. After everything was said and done, I was able to meet Steve at Powertrain Dynamics in Huntington Beach, CA. We started tuning with the new engine, but once we hit 4500 RPM the couplers and clams started flying off the block. At that point we were reaching 414rwhp/420rwtq. First we clamped everything back down and ran it again; but unfortunately, the same thing happened again. Now im changing to "T-Bolt" style clamps. I plan to install an Accufab Plenum and, if I can get one, a Typhoon Air Intake Manifold. In the end, I hope to be around 460rwhp.
