I have owned three Mustangs in my lifetime so far. Over the last few years, I have had the mini-van virus, but, when Ford introduced the new 2005 Mustang, I was blown away with how well they had retro-ed it. I road-tested and did a write-up for the auto magazine I regularly write for and from that moment on, the mini-van was history. My lease was almost up so I paid the last two months and ordered a convertible due in 2006. I just wanted it totally stock so I could create my own one-of-a-kind machine. I bought Carroll Shelby's CS6 package for under the hood, brakes and suspension. The exterior I dressed up the way I wanted the whole car to look - fast & mean! When I originally drove the car before modifying, I would get every young kid wanting to race me in their imports. As soon as the word "supercharged" was on the hood scoop the challenges stopped. I customized the interior myself in silver, a color that wasn't on offer from Ford. I have never seen another copy of mine, yet! So at the moment it is a one-off. The first time I went to a car show it won the "Teenagers" choice award.........I tell all my same age friends, " If you want a second childhood, buy a Mustang!" |
