Car Bio

When I was a kid, I saw a white '70 BOSS and it imprinted itself on my mind. In June '07, I started to shop and had the local dealer search everywhere for a GT in white with no wing, and charcoal monotone interior. Those were my only musts. After a week of looking, saying it's too rare to find, and attempts to talk me into other cars, I finally settled on a Black CS. I didn't feel right about it, but was impatient. I went to pay for the car and the price was up $500.00 over our agreement. Apparently, he forgot to tell me about an option it had. So, I told them to have him call me and left without signing off. The next day, he didn't call. So, I decided to forget it and look later on in the summer.

That evening, by force-of-habit, I checked the new car listings online and three hours earlier during that afternoon, my car had been posted by a far away dealership. In every way it was exactly what I wanted and so much more! Every option, incl. leather dash, Mach1000 etc. It was a special order that wasn't purchased. I bought it over the phone in 15 minutes for an amazing price. The other guy called a few days later to ask if we would be making the deal on the black one. I told him what I found and he hanged up on me. The lesson: Listen to your gut and NEVER settle for less than exactly the car you want—it's out there! As of April '09, it has 7400 kms on it and has never been on a wet road or washed—Just sprayed off to remove the dust, and then polished.
