Installation
- Use a small pry bar or flat-head screwdriver to force the old brake pedal cover off the pedal. The cover is held on by rubber clips around the back outside edge of the cover.
- Depending on how old the cover is (in my case it was still a stock cover from 1983) the clips may be cracked, making it very possible to break them in the removal process (this is not important unless you’re planning on keeping them). If you are intending to keep these after the process is over, you will want to be extra careful in removing them.
- You’re going to want to insert the small pry bar or flat-head screwdriver into the bottom of the brake pedal first, and follow with prying off the left side. You’ll be able to pull it off easily after this by simply sliding it to the right.
- When you’re ready to install the new one, you’re going to want to put the right side of the cover on first, by sliding it into place.
- Next, bend the top rubber clip over the pedal, followed by the left clip, and finishing with the bottom clip. Push on the cover until you are satisfied with how it is sitting on the pedal, and finish with sitting on the seat and pushing on it with your foot in order to test it out.

- You’re all done! Go take your 1979-1993 Mustang out for a spin and enjoy the thrills of an American muscle car.
