The 1987 Mustang brought one of the most significant changes in body appearance and interior. Rear taillights were redesigned and the nose of the Mustang was now smooth, with flush mounted headlights and wraparound turn signals. The GT model was fitted with dummy front fender scoops and the LX model received a rear spoiler. These changes made the Mustang look a bit more contemporary and also lowered drag.
