The 1989 Ford Mustang 4 cylinder hatchback and notchback were still available and priced under the $10,000 mark. Ford introduced a new model to the lineup, a 5.0L LX series called the LX 5.0L Sport. The model remained the same as previous LX models but was infused with Fords 5.0L 302 and the GT’s multi-adjustable sport seats.
