True Limited Slip. Unlike other brands of locking differentials that function as an "open" differential when not engaged, the Auburn Ected gives you the performance benefits of a limited slip differential for everyday driving. With the option to lock the differential at any time for complete torque to both rear tires.
Electrically Controlled. The Auburn electronic locking system can be engaged at any time and at any speed, unlike other locking differentials on the market that require you to come to a complete stop before engaging the locking mechanism. The locker can be activated with a push of a button or be programmed via a boost sensor to automatically engage when a certain boost level is reached.
Made in the USA. Made in the USA from extremely strong heat treated aircraft quality 9310 billet steel, the Auburn Ected Differential features no failure prone pins and/or shift forks to engage the locking mechanism for years of trouble free driving.
Application. This Auburn Ected Differential fits solid axle equipped V8 Mustangs from 1986 to 2013 as well as 2011 to 2013 V6 Mustangs. Requires 31 spline axles. Does not fit independent rear suspensions (IRS) equipped SVT Cobra's. Will not fit 2013 GT500.
Application Note: 1986-2004 V8 Mustangs came factory equipped with 28 spline axles, except for 2003-2004 SVT Cobras which were 31 spline. All 2005 and newer V8 Mustangs come equipped with 31 spline axles.
Technical Note. You will need to reuse your factory 8.8” gear set, or upgrade to a set of our 8.8" rear gears required for this Differential. No aftermarket gears are included. For normal driving conditions we recommend you use 75W 90 rear gear oil. This will give you the same oil weight as factory. For colder temps or race use try 75w 140.
