Hey guys, Mike Wilson here with AmericanMuscle.com, today I’m here with a K&N cold air intake kit for the 96-04 Mustang GT. This kit gets rid of the factory restrictive air box, and replaces it with a high flow reusable air filter, and a high density plastic intake tube, which will increase air flow to your Mustang’s engine. This increased airflow is going to give you more horse power, increased throttle response, a deep throaty engine sound, and this black finish will look great under the hood of your Mustang. The K&N cold air intake kit comes with a high flow reusable air filter, heat shield, high density plastic intake tube, silicone connectors, and all the hardware. But first, we’re going to make a stock dyno run so we have some baseline horse power and torque numbers to work from. Stock, our 2000 GT put down 221 horse power, and 260 ft/lbs of torque. We just finished our stock dyno run, now we’re going to install our cold air intake kit which should take less than an hour’s time using simple hand tools. On 96-01 Mustangs with an intake air temperature sensor, you’ll need to drill a ¾” hole in the inlet pipe, and use a rubber grommet to install the sensor into the pipe. We suggest using a very small amount of lubricant on both the inside of the grommet, and the outside of the sensor collar, to fit it back into the pipe. Even though this is a no tune required intake, we installed one of our bama performance 93 octane race tunes to maximize our power gains. A custom tune from bama performance adjusts engine parameters to maximize performance, through optimized air/fuel ratio, spark advance, enhanced throttle response ,and for automatics, increased shift firmness and adjustable shift points. Now let’s make another dyno run, see what kind of horse power and torque numbers we get. With a K&N cold air intake kit, and our bama performance tune, our car put down 245 horse power, and 287 ft/lbs of torque, with gains as high as 31 horse power and 47 ft/lbs of torque throughout the curve. The K&N cold air intake kit was easy to install using simple hand tools in under an hour’s time, its high density plastic intake tube kept the air cool and allowed us to gain as much as 31 horse power and 47 ft/lbs of torque throughout the curve, when combined with a bama performance tune.... Improves Horsepower. The K&N "Fuel Injection Performance Kit" (FIPK for short) Air Intake kit completely replaces your stock 1996-2004 GT Mustangs restrictive stock factory air box and paper filter with a high flow K&N filter assembly and intake tube for a noticeable increase in horsepower and acceleration while still providing excellent filtration.

Filters out harmful contaminants. The supplied K&N Filter successfully filter's out harmful contaminants with it's unique layered design. K&N Air Filters are made up of layers of specially treated cotton gauze that are sandwiched between two epoxy-coated aluminum wire screens for durability. K&N uses a specially formulated grade of oil to treat the cotton gauze layers which causes a tackiness throughout the cotton’s microscopic strands creating a powerful filtering media that ensures engine protection.

Straight Forward Installation. The 1996-2004 Mustang GT K&N FIPK Air Intake kit installs with commonly available basic hand tools, with no extra modifications required for installation.
