How to Install a Billet Grille for a 2010-2012 Mustang V6

Tools Required

  • Drill with 4mm Drillbit
  • 2 Flathead Screw drivers
  • 1 Phillips Head Screwdriver
  • Flat Nose Plier
  • 3 Screws (included in Grille packaging)
  • 3 Speed Clips (included in Grille Packaging)

Installation

STEP1: REMOVING RADIATOR COVER

  • Open your hood and prop it open.
  • Remove the8Plastic Rivets holding down the Radiator cover. To do this, place a Flathead Screw driver under the flush head of the rivet and lift up.

  • Place the Rivets in a safe spot so as not to lose them

  • Remove the Radiator Cover by lifting UP and BACK. (Place to the side)

    STEP2: REMOVING YOUR GRILLE

  • Your grille is held to your car by slots in your car’s front bumper that the grilles tabs are snapped into.
  • Place 1 of your Flathead Screwdrivers under the flap of the metal of your car, lifting up, and with your other Flathead push the head of your grilles clip past the metal flap.

  • This needs to be repeated all around the grille until all tabs have been popped out.
  • Make sure to put a cloth under your grille when you are pulling it out, so as not to scratch your paint!

  • Once all the clips have been popped out, pull the grille straight out.

STEP3: PUTTING ON YOUR BILLET GRILLE

  • Take your Billet grille and overlay it on top of your stock grille.

  • Mark the holes where you will be drilling. (One way of doing this is to put the screws in their slots on the Billet Grille and press down hard enough to leave a small indention on your stock grille
  • where you will be drilling)
  • Remove your Billet from your stock and set aside
  • Proceed to drill 4mm holes where marked. There will be3. (MakeSUREthat your placement of the grille holes and marks are correct before you begin to drill).
  • Put Billet Grille back on and place screw in slot and speed clip on the end of the backside of the screw and grille.
  • Hold speed clip tightly with pliers on back, while with other hand, screwing down these screw from front.

  • Repeatedly switch from using the pliers to fasten speed clip while holding screwdriver tightly, to screwing and holding down the speed clip with pliers. This will make the speed clip more secure.
  • Make sure that the screw and speed clip are tightly fastened to the grille.

  • Repeat this procedure for other 2 screws.
  • For your upper middle screw, you may need to bend or cut your own screw down
  • (This is because the screw hits the middle metal piece of your car when trying to reinstall, causing you not to be able to fully have your upper two tabs lock back into their slots)

    STEP4: ENJOY YOUR NEW BILLET GRILLE!

  • Put your new Grille back onto your car. Use towel to keep the grille from scratching your paint!'

  • Make sure the grilles clips pop back into their slots before replacing Radiator Cover.
  • Replace Radiator Cover and Rivets.
  • Shut your hood and enjoy your new look!!!
