Hey everyone Justin here with AmericanMuscle.com, taking a look at this polished aluminum cold air intake for all 99-04 V6 Mustangs. We’re going to show you what kind of horsepower and torque numbers you can expect when using this very budget friendly intake. This kit replaces your somewhat restrictive airbox with everything you see here, including the washable high flow filter, polished aluminum intake tube, heat shield, and all necessary hardware. Now besides giving you a nice boost in power and sound, this kit is sure to give you a nice visual improvement under the hood as well, thanks to that polished aluminum finish. Cooler, denser air results in more horsepower, that’s a fact. With that in mind this kit puts your filter right in your fender well, giving you maximum cool air, especially when used with the supplied heat shield. Now we want to see what kind of improvements this kit is going to make on our 2000 V6 back there. But before we go bolting everything up we want to get a baseline number down first, to see what we’re working with. Our automatic V6 put down a less than exciting 146 horsepower and 170 ft/lbs of torque in stock form. Now we’re going to install our polished cold air intake system, which should only take us about an hour thanks to the fact that this kit includes all hardware needed for install. The only exception is for a couple of you folks out there whose car isn’t equipped with an intake air temperature sensor, located right here. If you’re one of those few, don’t worry, simply go to your local hardware store, pick up a rubber plug which shouldn’t cost you more than a buck or two, and plug the hole, problem solved. In addition to installing our cold air intake we’re also going to upload our custom 93 octane Bama tune and maximize our gains. This is going to optimize our spark timings, perfect those air/fuel ratios, and give you drastically improved throttle response. Alright, now the moment of truth, with our intake installed and our Bama tune uploaded, let’s turn the rollers one more time and see the improvements this kit made on our V6. Well the numbers are in and we’re very happy with the results. Our polished cold air equipped V6 put down a total of 164 horsepower and 194 ft/lbs of torque, making for an impressive peak gain of 84 horsepower over our baseline numbers, we were also able to pick up some very nice power throughout the curve as well – making 19 horsepower, and 27 ft/lbs of torque respectively. Not only do we pick up more horsepower and torque with this intake, but we also improved our under the hood appearance, and added a nice little growl to the motor as well. So even though this intake doesn’t have a big brand name stamped all over it, it certainly held up its end of the bargain and delivered some solid gains.... HIDE

This CAI pulls cooler denser air from inside the inner fender well to make more power that you can feel.

Reusable Filter. This kit includes a high flow reusable air filter, so there's no need to go out and buy a new filter every few thousand miles. Just clean the filter, re-oil it, save money, and go!

Polished Finish. A Cold Air Intake not only improves horsepower and acceleration, but it also improves your Mustang's underhood appearance with a striking polished aluminum finish. Now you can have the best of both worlds, performance and style.
