How to Install Projector Headlights for 1999-2004 Mustang

Installation Time: 2 Hrs

Installation

  1. Remove the two factory headlight retaining clips.

  2. Remove the headlight from the vehicle by unplugging the main headlight and parking light harnesses.

  3. Peel back the electrical tape on the factory parking light harness to expose the three wires; black, brown, and green w/white stripe.

  4. Using the supplied scotch lock connectors, splice the black wire from the new headlight to the black wire from the parking bulb harness and the blue wire from the new headlight to the brown wire from the parking bulb harness as shown. You may have to strip more insulation from the blue and black wires from the headlight to get a good connection.

  5. Remove the parking bulb from your old headlight and place it in the new headlight. Install the new headlight onto the vehicle, making sure to connect both the headlight and parking light harnesses. Once the new headlight is aligned in the bumper, re-install the retaining clips you removed in Step 1 to complete the installation.

  6. Make sure the lights work as follows: Parking Lights ON:
