Hey everyone, Justin here with AmericanMuscle.com and im going to be taking a closer look at the K&N fuel injection performance kit cold air intake system for all 05-09 Mustang GTs. When most people think of performance intake systems for their car chance are K&N is one of the first things that comes to mind. That’s because they have been making quality intake systems for well over 50 years. This system completely replaces your restrictive factory air box and cheap paper filter with everything you see in front of me including the new intake tube itself, the heat shield, the reusable high flow filter and all your necessary hardware. Another nice thing about this besides kit is its sleek black finish is the fact that this intake is made from high density plastic that is far less susceptible to heat soak then other metal or aluminum intakes which makes for cooler air and more horse power. The really great thing intake is that you have the ability to run it with or without a tune depending on your set up, but you know what were about here at AmericanMuscle, that’s right, maximum horsepower so were going to install this intake and install it with our BAMA tune to really make the most out of our K&N, but first we need to get a baseline number down from our 2006 GT back there. So our stock GT put down a total of 258 horsepower, and 286 ft/lb of torque. So let’s get that factory air box out of there and install this new K&N , this should only take you about an hour in the drive way with standard hand tools. Were also going to take this time to upload our 92 octane BAMA tune to maximize our gains. This is going to adjust our variable cam timing, optimize spark timing, perfect the air fuel ratios and give you drastically improve throttle response. Well with everything buttoned up and the tune installed lets fire up the dyno one more time to see what improvements this cold air intake made on our gt. Well we just finished up our second run and already I can hear the difference this kit makes our GT sounds awesome, it certainly wasn’t all bark and no bite either. This intake made 269 hp, and 292 ft/lb of torque making a peak gain of 11 hp and a gain of 19 and 17 tq throughout the curve. You don’t get to be one of the biggest names in the game by designing low quality parts, that’s why this intake although a little bit more than some of our other options are designed with over a half century’s worth of knowledge and is back by K&Ns limited million mile warranty, so if you’re looking for a quality intake from an industry leader make sure to check out this K&N for your S197.... Improves Horsepower. The K&N "Fuel Injection Performance Kit" (FIPK for short) Air Intake kit completely replaces your stock 2005-2009 GT Mustangs restrictive stock factory air box and paper filter with a high flow K&N filter assembly and intake tube for a noticeable increase in horsepower and acceleration while still providing excellent filtration.

Filters out harmful contaminants. The supplied K&N Filter successfully filter's out harmful contaminants with it's unique layered design. K&N Air Filters are made up of layers of specially treated cotton gauze that are sandwiched between two epoxy-coated aluminum wire screens for durability. K&N uses a specially formulated grade of oil to treat the cotton gauze layers which causes a tackiness throughout the cotton’s microscopic strands creating a powerful filtering media that ensures engine protection.

CARB Certified. Best of all this K&N Mustang FIPK Air Intake Kit is 50-state smog legal under Carb EO# D-269-34 for the 2005 to 2006 GT models, 2007 to 2009 pending approval.

Straight Forward Installation. Installing the K&N Air Intake Kit on a 2005-2009 GT is simple and straight forward using commonly available basic hand tools, with no extra modifications or computer retuning required for proper installation.
